The AgriFood industry is one of the most backward and outdated sectors in the world today. Most sub-sectors along the entire value-chain, from farms through to end-consumer businesses, lack innovation and adoption of technology.

This means that the world is missing out on exciting opportunities that could revolutionise the way we create, process and consume food. And it's why it's our mission to bring consumers the world's most innovative food and agricultural solutions in an inspiring, original and sustainable manner.

Our business principles form a key part of our identity as a team and we expect everyone in our organisation to work and live by these guidelines on a daily basis. We believe this encourages a collaborative spirit, pushes people to strive for excellence and - above all - ensures our employees and management do business with a strong sense of honesty and integrity.

1. CREATE AND CAPTURE VALUE.

We believe in creating value first and then capturing it. This means putting our clients' best interests before all else. It also means focusing on delivering the best possible products and services, that will help improve society and our planet in a meaningful way. If we achieve in doing all this, only then do we deserve a reward in return.

2. TIME IS THE ENEMY.

We remind ourselves regularly that time is limited. What we do on a daily basis needs to be meaningful and impactful. We are also very conscious of the progress and innovation taking place at our peers in the industry. This means we need to move swiftly, focus and execute at an unmatched speed and with industry-leading agility.

3. GOOD ETHICS IS GOOD BUSINESS.

We firmly believe that there is no elevator to success - we all need to take the stairs. History has proven that so-called shortcuts don't work. That's why conducting business in an ethical manner, with integrity and honesty is paramount to us. If we have our clients' best interests at heart, we know that our success will follow.

4. THE BEST IDEAS WIN. SPEAK UP.

It is important to us that we foster a culture of collaboration and sharing of ideas. Most problems and challenges can only be overcome with creativity, curiosity and bold ideas - things that are often unrelated to ones' seniority, level of experience or age. That's why we encourage everyone in our organisation to share their thoughts, impressions and ideas.

5. IT'S BETTER TO LOOK STUPID THAN TO BE STUPID.

It is impossible to do a good job if we don't know what we're aiming at. We need to identify problems before we can prescribe solutions - and sometimes those problems are difficult to identify, pinpoint or describe. If we're unsure about something, we need to ask the right questions. And when they are well thought-through, there are no embarrassing questions.

6. BE TRANSPARENT, DIRECT AND TRUTHFUL.

We believe that transparent, direct and truthful communication is critical to our success. It encourages an honest approach to our work and towards each other. It helps us resolve conflict faster and in a more amicable way. And it helps us grow, as we are able to embrace criticism and learn from (and fix) our mistakes faster.

7. KNOW WHEN IT'S OK TO FAIL AND EMBRACE IT.

Sometimes it is important to take calculated risks. Creating something great takes courage and requires us to step out of our comfort zones and embrace the possibility of failure. And it's from these failures that we learn the most about life and ourselves. That's why we encourage this entrepreneurial and open mindset across our organisation.

8. HARD WORK IS A GIVEN. CHALLENGE YOURSELF, ALWAYS.

Creating amazing products and services is not easy. Markets and competitors are fierce. Clients are relentless in their search for the best of everything. That's why working hard is a given and why we owe it to ourselves to continuously set new challenges. It's how we struggle, learn, overcome and grow as a business and as individuals.

9. BE WORTHY OF TRUST.

We don't believe in micro-management and excessive red tape, rules, regulations and restrictions.
